At Coins by Bamboo, we provide multi-currency accounts designed to help Nigerian immigrants in Canada seamlessly manage their personal and business banking needs. Our platform allows users to hold, send, and receive funds in CAD and NGN.
Scope of Role
We are looking for a Community and Social Media Manager based in Canada to grow our reach, drive activations and other engagements that would lead to an increase in new users signed up and transacting
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing community development, as well as social media strategies. You will collaborate with product and marketing teams to refine our messaging, our product offerings, and contribute to user and revenue growth.

What you will be doing
Community Development, Engagement and Management
- Build strong relationships with diaspora communities, community leaders, cultural organizations, and influencers to amplify Coins by Bamboo’s reach and impact.
- Execute community-focused actions to build and nurture a strong and engaged user base.
- Organise and participate in local events, meetups, and forums to promote Coins by Bamboo and educate potential users about our services.
- Identify and establish partnerships with relevant organisations to drive user growth.
- Create and manage relationships with different types of community partners.
- Negotiate and manage partnerships to ensure mutual benefits and successful collaborations.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Coins by Bamboo, representing the company with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Social Media Management
- Develop, execute and iterate on (as necessary) a comprehensive social media strategy in a way that aligns with Coins by Bamboo’s overall marketing goals and drives brand awareness, engagement, and community growth across all platforms.
- Ideate and create social media content (photo, video, etc.), collaborating with internal teams and external partners to produce high-quality written and visual content (photo, video, etc.) that enhances Coins by Bamboo's brand voice and visibility.
- Oversee engagement across all platforms by monitoring content performance, responding to followers, and fostering a positive, active, and loyal online community that reflects Coins by Bamboo’s values.
- Work closely with multiple internal teams as well as partners to develop strategies that amplify engagement and elevate campaign promotions.
- Use analytics tools to measure and report on the effectiveness of campaigns, providing actionable insights to continuously refine and improve Coins by Bamboo’s social media presence.
Who You Are (Role Expectations)
- You have 3-5 years of experience in community building, social media management, and digital content creation.
- You have expertise in managing and growing communities.
- You possess a proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies that drive engagement and business growth.
- You have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- You've got exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent brands live on camera and in written copy.
- You are proficient in using social media analytics tools (e.g., Buffer) to measure performance and inform strategy.
- You’ve got positive energy. You’re optimistic about the future and determined to get there.
- You appreciate direct communication. You’re both an active communicator and an eager listener
- You’re cool with candid feedback and see every setback as an opportunity to grow.
- You have a “can do” attitude. Owning a problem doesn’t scare you, but rather empowers you to take 100% responsibility for achieving the Bamboo mission.
- You’re never tired of learning.
- You are willing to travel and work some weekends.
- You are self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
