Engineering Lead – Java

Job Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Lead (Java) for our Banking team. We are looking for a Java developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users.

Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Responsibilities:

• Providing technical direction and engineering leadership for a team of engineers
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Contributing to the design and development of new products and features
• Ensuring that engineering processes are followed
• Maintaining product quality

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and make adjustments in a testing environment.
• Competence and comfort using frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot).
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Containerization and automated testing.
• Experience with Cloud native architecture and technologies
• Previous experience on continuous integration and deployment, test automation, cloud-based infrastructure and tooling.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
